Why NEHA Food Safety Training?

To improve food worker knowledge and practice of safe food handling techniques, NEHA Food Safety Training has been able to provide the most effective food safety training program based off the following strategies:

We provide low-cost training materials to increase accessibility and frequency of food worker training.

NEHA Food Safety Training feels that food safety should be a vital and necessary component of all restaurants.  Recognizing that some restaurants may forgo food safety for finance reasons, we have made our materials available at a fraction of the price compared to the competition.  Doing so encourages restaurant owners to provide training for their employees and enables health departments to hold more trainings each year.

We publish books for food managers and food handlers that are easy to read and understand, plus our books are designed so that individuals will remember the food safety principles long after training has taken place.

Our training materials break down the microbiological and technical principles so that individuals of varying educational backgrounds will be able to understand and apply the principles at hand.  Recognizing that many of the individuals in need of food safety training have been out of the classroom for quite some time, our books are written at the eighth grade level and their concise format means that individuals will not be intimidated to move forward with the learning process. This concept is really important.  Just because an individual learns something in the classroom, doesn't mean he or she will be able to remember it in the workplace.  Our book has brightly colored illustrations and activities that engage the reader in the learning process and promote retention of information so that individuals can apply the knowledge when they are at work.

Our  food manager book  trains individuals for ANY CFP-ANSI certification exam

NEHA Food Safety Training's materials will successfully prepare food safety managers to pass ANY CFP-ANSI nationally accredited certification exam.  These exams include National Registry of Food Safety Professionals®, Prometric™, and National Restaurant Association (ServSafe®). By not restricting individuals to one exam choice, NEHA Food Safety Training prohibits a monopolization of training and testing providers.  Moreover, in separating exams from training materials, we ensure that our trainers are not teaching to the test itself; whereby preventing the individual from simply memorizing the information for a short period of time.

We assist you in developing a reciprocal relationship with your local health department.

As the Regulator's Choice® for food safety education and training, NEHA Food Safety Training is able to build our network of trainers from the most recognized food safety experts in the industry. In fact, the majority of our registered trainers are regulatory official themselves - and who better to train you than the regulatory experts? By having our experts perform your food safety training, you will develop long-standing relationships with your regulatory officials that both compliment and further advance your food safety program.

We have formed a national network of highly qualified trainers, and require them to meet stringent qualification standards.

We believe that one of the most important ways to educate individuals on proper food safety practices is to provide them with the most effective training available.  As such, NEHA Food Safety Training requires all of their trainers to demonstrate a high level of competency in three core areas: food safety knowledge, prior training/teaching experience, and previous experience in the food industry.  These areas, recommended by the Conference for Food Protection, enable NEHA Food Safety Training to build a select network of trainers from the most recognized food safety experts in the business.  

We have received tremendous feedback from restaurants, trainers, health departments, university cooperative extensions, and others nationwide about the effectiveness of our program.  Many of our trainers have seen an increase in exam passing rates when they switched to our materials and one trainer even noted he had his highest passing rate yet!  Moreover, our books recently received the highest rating given by a national food safety review panel.  Our rating of ‘highly recommended' placed us at the top among experienced environmental health professionals who reviewed our materials for content, quality, and compatibility with the FDA Food Code.
